Fall 2026 brings Cardinals football to Glendale, ASU football and hockey to Tempe, and Suns basketball to Downtown Phoenix. Fans planning a game day should check the latest start time, venue parking rules, and designated pickup areas before leaving. For those who would rather skip stadium or arena parking, VIP Taxi can be booked for the trip there, the ride home, or both.
Fall brings several major sports seasons together across Metro Phoenix. Arizona Cardinals football is underway in Glendale, ASU football fills Saturdays in Tempe, Sun Devil Hockey returns to Mullett Arena, and the Phoenix Suns tip off another NBA season downtown.
For fans heading to sporting events in Phoenix and around the Valley, the tickets are only part of the plan. Parking rules, traffic patterns, start times, and plans before or after the game can all affect when to leave and where to meet afterward.
Game dates, start times, and venue information can change, so check the official team or venue page before heading out.

Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium in Glendale
Cardinals home games bring fans to State Farm Stadium in Glendale’s Sports & Entertainment District, near the Westgate Entertainment District. The fall home schedule continues through late October and November, with several games still ahead.
- October 11: Detroit Lions
- October 25: Denver Broncos
- November 15: Los Angeles Rams
- November 29: Washington Commanders

Anyone driving to the game should check State Farm Stadium parking details before game day. Cardinals parking lots open four hours before kickoff. The stadium also identifies the Black Lot, south of the stadium, as its designated drop-off and pickup area for rideshare, family, and friends.
Meeting friends at Westgate before kickoff? A ride to the stadium and a ride home afterward can save you from leaving a car in the stadium lot all afternoon.
ASU Football at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe
Mountain America Stadium puts fall football right on the ASU campus in Tempe. Several home games also carry official themes, from the Maroon Monsoon to Homecoming, adding another layer to the game-day atmosphere.
- October 3: Baylor, Maroon Monsoon, 7:30 PM
- October 10: Hawaii, Sun Devil Hall of Fame Game
- October 24: Kansas State, Blackout Game
- November 7: Colorado, Salute to Service and Family Weekend
- November 21: Oklahoma State, Senior Night and Homecoming
Public ASU stadium parking includes lots and structures around Mountain America Stadium. The Orange Lot, Black Lot, Packard Drive Structure, Stadium Structure, Fulton Lot, Blue Lot, Maroon Lot, Gold Lot, Novus Structure, and Copper Lot open seven hours before kickoff. Other ASU lots and structures open 5.5 hours before kickoff.
If Mill Avenue, dinner, or drinks are part of the night, it helps to decide on the ride home before the first stop. VIP Taxi works with local bars and restaurants to help patrons get home, and fans can also book directly for pickup in Tempe.
Phoenix Suns at Mortgage Matchup Center
Fans returning for the 2026-27 season will see Mortgage Matchup Center on Suns schedules, tickets, and venue directions. The current name was announced in October 2025 for the downtown arena.
The Suns begin their regular-season home schedule later in October, with more Downtown Phoenix basketball continuing through November.
- October 10: San Antonio Spurs, preseason
- October 16: Utah Jazz, preseason
- October 24: Golden State Warriors, regular-season home opener
- October 30: Denver Nuggets, Emirates NBA Cup group game
- November 7: Houston Rockets
- November 15: Los Angeles Lakers
Mortgage Matchup Center sits at 201 E. Jefferson Street in Downtown Phoenix. Public parking garages downtown are typically open throughout the day. For event parking, the venue advises guests to expect parking availability approximately 30 minutes before doors open, unless otherwise noted for a specific event.
For games and other events, the designated pickup and drop-off area is on 3rd Street just south of Jefferson at the green curb.
If you’d rather skip arena parking, book the ride before tipoff and use the venue’s designated pickup and drop-off area on 3rd Street.
ASU Hockey at Mullett Arena
Sun Devil Hockey plays its home games at Mullett Arena on ASU’s Tempe campus. On this schedule, a series means two games against the same opponent over the same weekend.
The 2026-27 home schedule opens October 9–10 against Holy Cross, with additional home series later in the fall.
- October 9–10: Holy Cross, first home series
- November 6 & 8: Denver, first home National Collegiate Hockey Conference series
- November 27–28: Alaska Anchorage, non-conference home series
Parking for Sun Devil Hockey is controlled by ASU Parking. Guest parking is available in the Packard Parking Structure and/or Novus Parking Garage. Parking can also be purchased onsite upon arrival by credit card.
If the game is part of a longer night in Tempe, plan the return trip before the puck drops. That keeps the pickup decision from becoming something everyone has to sort out after the arena empties.

Plan the Ride Before Game Day
A little planning can make the biggest difference after the game, when thousands of fans may be leaving the same area at once. VIP Taxi operates 24/7 and can be booked ahead for the trip to the venue, the ride home, or both.
For game day:
- Book several ways: Reserve online, use the VIP Taxi App, send a WhatsApp message, or call or text.
- No surge pricing: Fares don’t increase simply because a stadium or arena is emptying after an event.
- Flying in for the game: Airport and hotel rides can be arranged between Phoenix Sky Harbor, local hotels, and the venue.
- Plans changed? Riders can also request a trip when the day doesn’t go exactly as expected.

FAQs About Phoenix Fall Sports and Game-Day Transportation
How can fans get to sporting events in Phoenix without parking at the venue?
Fans can book a ride to State Farm Stadium, Mountain America Stadium, Mullett Arena, or Mortgage Matchup Center instead of parking at the venue. VIP Taxi can be reserved online, through the app, on WhatsApp, or by phone or text.
Where are the designated pickup and drop-off areas at Phoenix-area sports venues?
Pickup locations vary by venue. State Farm Stadium uses the Black Lot south of the stadium for rideshare, family, and friend pickup and drop-off. Mortgage Matchup Center directs game and event pickup and drop-off to 3rd Street just south of Jefferson at the green curb. Check the venue’s current instructions before leaving because event-specific directions can change.
Should I book my ride home before the game starts?
Booking ahead can make the end of the night easier, especially when a large crowd is leaving at once. Riders can schedule the return trip before the game or request a ride later if plans change.
Can I book a ride from Phoenix Sky Harbor to a hotel and then to a game?
Yes. VIP Taxi offers airport and hotel transportation around Metro Phoenix, so visiting fans can arrange the airport trip separately from the game-day ride.
